Ooredoo Maldives Upgrades ‘Evee’ And Officially Launches New Dhivehi Font

Yesterday, Ooredoo Maldives upgraded its first-ever Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered Digital Care Assistant, ‘Evee’, enabling it to interact with customers in the mother tongue, Dhivehi. As per Ooredoo’s new tagline “Upgrade Your World” the upgrade highlights the Ooredoo company’s unwavering commitment to take their services to the next level by facilitating more inclusive features. Through enabling localized communications, ‘Evee’ would now be able to connect with customers on a more personalized level.

In addition to the launching of Evee in Dhivehi, Ooredoo Maldives also unveiled its brand-new official Dhivehi font, aligning with the company’s new visual identity. The strategic changes being brought to the brand identity under the Ooredoo global campaign of “Upgrade Your World” aspires to better capture the company’s personality and reflect its journey in terms of the modern technology and growth it has brought to the business. Hence, the change exhibits the Ooredoo vision to create opportunities through technology.

Speaking on the occasion, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Ooredoo Maldives, Khalid Al-Hamadi said “AI-powered IoT and other emerging technologies have enormous potential to transform the lives of our customers, creating opportunities that will enrich the lives of our communities. This beautiful font will enable us to prioritize communications in Dhivehi and connect better with customers while ensuring our communications portray the essence of our brand identity”.

Evee allows mobile users to conveniently check data, SMS, Voice and bill balances via 929 hotline and interact with Ooredoo on Facebook Messenger and Viber to check best offers, data add-ons and manage services. With Evee, real-time automated answers are provided which eliminates waiting time on call to reach a customer care agent. Like all bots, Evee is currently in the learning phase to interact with customers in Dhivehi and will improve on experience through machine learning.

Initially launched in 2019, Evee was introduced in English. Since then, Evee has evolved and streamline services for customers. Ooredoo Maldives remains steadfast in investing in new technologies and services that enhance the lives of Maldivians.
