Yesterday, Dhiraagu expressed hope to renew the DhiraaguTV rebroadcasting license, despite the restrictions posed by the alterations brought to the regulation by Maldives Broadcasting Commission (MBC).
Dhiraagu is currently in talks with MBC and other relevant authorities to review the changes brought to the regulation and allow the company to renew its license, facilitating DhiraaguTV services to its large customer-base. However, if regardless of the negotiations a favourable outcome is not reached, DhiraaguTV services will be suspended until further notice. Consequently, many customers acquiring the service from different parts of the country, will not be able to receive the service as the current license retained by Dhiraagu expires in January 2023.
Dhiraagu also announced yesterday that they will share further information in the earliest possible date, in light of the discussions being held with the relevant authorities at the moment. In this regard, Dhiraagu expressed its thanks to the dedicated customers for placing their trust and support in the company. The company assured that they are diligently working towards finding a solution that will allow customers to still enjoy the DhiraaguTV service.
The launching of DhiraaguTV received positive public feedback and support. Featuring over 100 quality premium channels in ultra-high definition, Dhiraagu has facilitated the service to 85% of households in 90 various islands across the country.
