MTCC Provides Updates On R. Kinolhas Harbour Development Project

Yesterday, Maldives Transport and Contracting Company provided the latest updates on the harbour development project of Kinolhas in Raa Atoll. The company stated that 84% of the groyne construction is completed and 81% of the new harbour basin dredging operations are well underway at the island of R. Kinolhas.

With a project value of MVR 45.1 Million, the scope of the harbour development project of R. Kinolhas extends to many necessary areas of the harbour. This includes the construction of a 162m groyne, a 285m breakwater as well as revetment of a 65m area and the construction of a 186m quay wall. Apart from this, channel dredging and excavation operations are also featured as part of the harbour development project.

Moreover, a 1663.36 sqm area will be dedicated for harbour pavement with navigational aids and harbour lights installed along the harbour. In addition to this, a ramp will also be constructed under this project.

MTCC has been contracted to develop the harbours of many islands in various atolls of the Maldives. The completion of the project in R. Kinolhas will bring ease of transportation for the residents of the island.
