President Solih Concludes His Visit To The Island Of Kaashidhoo

Yesterday, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih concluded his visit to the Island of Kaashidhoo in Kaafu Atoll and returned back to Male’. The President visited the island to take part in the activities held to commemorate this year’s National Farmer’s Day and World Food Day 2022.

During his visit to the island, the President attended the official reception held to mark the two days. At the ceremony, the President stated that the administration has decided to increment the amount of agricultural loans to MVR 2 Million, better addressing the concerns of farmers. Afterwards, the President participated in a special banquet hosted on the commemorative occasion.

Moreover, the President also toured the agricultural exhibition held to celebrate Farmer’s Day and met with many members of the Farming community. He also held meetings with the Island Council and Women’s Development Committee of Kaashidhoo. During the meeting, the President reassured the members that the road development project will commence soon once the water network installation project is completed in the island. While addressing the concerns regarding land reclamation and harbour construction, the President stated that the administration will talk with relevant stakeholders to initiate the projects concurrently.

Additionally, President Solih inspected the Kaashidhoo Island Health Centre and inquired about the services and developmental aspirations. At the moment, the health centre upgrade project of Kaashidhoo is in the planning stages and features a portico area, extended section of health centre and other necessary updates.
