The President Departs To K.Kaashidhoo To Commemorate Two Important Days

Today, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih departed to the island of Kaashidhoo in Kaafu Atoll to take part in the festivities hosted to commemorate two important days. The National Farmer’s Day falls on 15^th October while the consecutive day is marked internationally as World Food Day. This year, the joint celebrations of both days are held in the island of Kaashidhoo.

At the island, President Solih will attend the official reception held at Kaafu Atoll Education Centre and tour the exhibition hosted there by the farmers. He would also be gracing a special banquet organized to commemorate the occasion.

In addition to the festivities, the President will also be holding meetings with the Island Council and Women’s Development Committee (WDC) of Kaashidhoo. Moreover, he would also visit and inspect the healthcare Centre located in the island.

Before arriving at Kaashidhoo, the President will make a quick stop at Sun Island Resort & Spa, where the FIVB Beach Pro Tour- Maldives Challenge 2022 is taking place. This is the first time the world tour has been held in the Maldives. Here, the President will participate in the closing ceremony of the tournament.

The President will conclude his visit to Kaashidhoo island on Monday, 17^th October 2022 and return back to Male’.
