Hour of Code, Your One Step Introduction Computer Science. Are You Interested?

‘Hour of Code’ is a global movement reaching over tens of millions of students across the world. It is a one-hour introduction to computer science designed to demystify coding and to showcase that anyone can learn the basics, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science. The event takes place annually during the Computer Science Education Week (7th December – 13th December). Presently, the campaign is supported by more than 400 partners and 200,000 educators worldwide.

The event is also held in Maldives by Hour of Code Maldives. It is organized by Woman in Tech in Maldives and STEM Space. This year, it is set to take place on 12th December and will extend to all parts of the country. Registrations are currently open. You can register for the program through its website. The application deadline is set to 1st December.

In order to join the session, you will need an internet connected device. There is no requirement of prior experience in coding before. The event is open to children of all ages.

According to the organizers, it is an amazing opportunity to learn computer science because it helps nurture problem-solving skills, logic and creativity.
