HDC Signs Key Agreements To Conduct Major Projects In Hulhumale’

Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has signed four key agreements to carry forward revolutionary projects in Hulhumale’. The agreements were signed on behalf of HDC by Managing Director, Ahmed Athif.

The scope of the projects signed on by HDC include the construction of an accommodation building to serve as labour quarters for workers, a parking building, auto centre and a daycare centre. The main aim of conducting these projects is to enhance the quality of services provided to residents living in Hulhumale’.

The worker’s accommodation building was contracted to Rotime Engineering Technology Private Limited to be completed within 14 months of signing. The accommodation will comprise of 18 blocks, providing a capacity for 7000 labourers and additional 2000 hospitality staff to live in the quarters. Moreover, the building will also be equipped with other essential facilities including prayer rooms, shops and toilets as well as offices, conference hall and an infirmary.

The auto centre was contracted to China State Construction Engineering Corporation
(CSCEC) and strives to deliver safe garage services within 24 months. The five-storey tall building spans 35,400 acres and is based on a sustainable city concept. Therefore, the building will utilize solar power to generate electricity and will consist of charging stations for electric cars as well as a rainwater collection system.

The parking building will also feature solar panels to generate energy and comes accompanied by other facilities such as stores and restrooms. Furthermore, the building is made accessible by including designated parking services for people with disabilities. The six storey building covers an area of 2700 square-foot and will be completed within 2 years.

The daycare centre was contracted to Associated Business Agents Maldives Private Limited (ABA). As part of the project, ABA will be constructing a 3000 square feet, six-storey building with state-of-the-art facilities to provide all services of contemporary daycare. Additionally, the daycare will also be home to a clinic designated for children with disabilities. This project is also set to be completed in 2 years.
