Telltales by Bollywood Celebrities Who Vacationed in the Safe Haven of the Maldivian Islands

Here we have another successful marketing stunt by Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) targeted towards the Indian tourist market! On Friday, an Instagram Live Conference was commenced in collaboration with Bollywood celebrities for the purpose of creating awareness about the new travel guidelines, to increase destination presence of Maldives and to further fortify the country as a safe haven during these troubled times.

Five well-known celebrities took part in the conference being; Karishma Sharma, Kishwer Merchant, Tanya Sharma, Abigail Pandes and Pryanca Talukdar. They discussed the procedure prior to arrival in Maldives in addition to sharing their experiences here under the theme ‘Rediscover Maldives – The Sunny Side of Life’. This will laos strengthen engagement and increase brand visibility on the most consumed social media platform, Instagram.

Since the borders were reopened, India has to become the second top tourist market to Maldives. The latest statistics from the Ministry of Tourism shows that 7652 Indian Nationals have arrived in Maldives as of 26th November. As a result, several other marketing campaign have been instigated by MMPRC towards the Indian tourist market. Currently, Maldives is being marketed as the perfect honeymoon destination for Indian couples through WeddingSutra. An online brochure has also been disseminated detailing necessary information for tourists prior to travelling into the country.
