MACL Handover Keys To Aero Residence Apartments In Hulhumale’ Phase II

Yesterday, Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) officially handed over apartment keys to the owners of the Aero Residences in Hulhumale’ Phase II. The keys were handed over at a special ceremony held at the Aero Residence. The ceremony was graced by Minister of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, Ahmed Aslam. Aero Residences form part of the Government’s wider social housing scheme in Hulhumale’ Phase II.

While speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, Ahmed Aslam said that the Government’s aim is to provide housing for all citizens equally. He also thanked MACL management for seamlessly handing over the apartments to its staff with easy alterations. In his concluding remarks, the minister urged all owners to pay the rent on time in order for such housing schemes to continue sustainably in the future.

The CEO and MD of MACL, said that as per the request of staff, many convenient alterations were brought to the agreement before handing over the apartments. This included extending the final year for full payment to 20 years and omitting the requirements for a Guarantor, with outstanding rent being settled from the salary of employees.

During the ceremony, a symbolic key was handed over to owners from 7 different categories of apartments. Featuring two towers, the Aero Residences were contracted to the Chinese company, Beijing Urban Construction Group (B.U.C.G). A total of 384 apartments are included in the towers with 240 (1+2) apartments and 144 1-room apartments. All apartments are semi-furnished and built to contemporary quality and comfort. MACL strives to become the best apartments developed under the Hiya Housing scheme.
