President Solih States ‘Exceptional Hospitality Vital To Preserve Maldives As Leading Destination’

On Thursday, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih stated that providing exceptional hospitality to guests is essential to maintain the title of Maldives as the world’s leading destination. He made these remarks while speaking at the Tourism Appreciation Reception held at Crossroads Maldives to commemorate the Golden Jubilee Year of Tourism in the Maldives.

During his speech, President Solih said that Maldivians have always shown exemplary hospitality in welcoming guests to the country. He further stated that to remain competitive in the international tourism market, Maldives will have to pay special attention towards improving the quality of services. In this regard, he added that it is equally important to conserve the natural resources of the Maldives which represents the beauty of the destination.

The President reminisced on how the tourism industry flourished in the Maldives and expressed his gratitude to the pioneers of the industry, commending them for their commitment and hard work. He also thanked everyone involved in the Tourism sector and sincerely thanked them for their tireless efforts.

The Tourism Appreciation Reception was attended by a number dignitaries and government officials including the Vice President, Faisal Naseem, Cabinet Ministers, Tourism pioneers and many other notable attendees graced the occasion.

At the ceremony, the President presented Appreciation Awards to individuals who immensely contributed to the Tourism industry of the Maldives in the last 5 decades. The Vice President also bestowed Appreciation Awards to prominent industry professionals who excelled in their career in the past 50 years.

The reception served the purpose of celebrating the Golden Year of tourism in the Maldives and reflected on the hard work of those in the industry. It also provided a platform for key players in the industry to network with each other under one roof.
