The 17th Edition of the Corporate Registers Forum (CRF) has commenced in the Maldives hosted by the Ministry of Economic Development. The CRF is an association of global corporate registries with memberships extending to government agencies overseeing the administration of corporate registers. The CRF Conference will take place from the 21st-24th of September at Paradise Island Resort.
This year’s edition of the CRF Annual Conference is held concurrently with the Annual General Meeting allowing attendees to review the recent developments in corporate business registers on an international level. Moreover, it also provides a platform to exchange information and experiences about the present and future of business registries.
Themed as ‘Transforming Business Registries for the Post Pandemic Era’, the conference will see the congregation of more than 100 professionals from 35 different countries representing 27 various jurisdictions. This includes Justices, Ministers, Registrars and Industry Experts, all meeting under one roof to progress towards a more resilient future for business registries. For this year’s conference, Registrar of Companies for the Republic of Maldives, Mariyam Visam will be acting as the Conference Director as well as the representative of the Maldives on the CRF Executive Committee.
At the opening ceremony, Justice of Supreme Court of Maldives, H.e Justice Uz. Husnu Al Suood attended as the Chief Guest. Other notable individuals also participated in the opening ceremony including State Minister of Economic Development of Maldives, Neeza Imad and CRF President, Louise Smyth.
In her speech, President of CRF, Louise Smyth stated that the 17th annual conference will provide a platform for all Registrars to learn from one another, to share ideas and hear new perspectives on all the important issues in 21st century post-pandemic corporate registry.
The 17th Edition of CRF will host a plethora of speeches and panel discussions addressing topics on best practices and standards or corporate registries, local and global regulatory frameworks for revolving business registries and outlook on future of business registries, furthermore, it will also explore World Bank reports and surveys in the aim of strengthening the resilience of worldwide business registries via beneficial collaborations.
