Bank Of Maldives To Fund Three Families From Its Housing Grant

Today, Bank of Maldives (BML) announced the recipients of its Housing Grant and is delighted to fund three families through it. The Housing Grant was introduced as part of the monthly initiatives of BML conducted throughout the year to commemorate their 40th year of service.

From the Housing Grant, the bank will facilitate the building and furnishing of homes belonging to three vulnerable families in different parts of the country. Earlier in the year, local councils and NGOs were encouraged to apply for the Grant on behalf of the families and recipients were awarded after a thorough, evaluation process. The three winners of the Grant are listed as below:

1.     Sukoon, Sh. Funadhoo, Proposal submitted by Unity Sports Academy
2.     Ishaa, N. Velidhoo, Proposal submitted by Velidhoo Future Foundation
3.     Sunhiyaa, Adh. Maamigili, Proposal submitted by Falcon Youth & Recreation
 
Speaking about the Housing Grant, BML’s In-charge and acting MD, Aishath Noordeen said that supporting initiatives like the Housing Grant is part of the bank’s Corporal Social Responsibility strategy. She remarked that by supporting some of the most vulnerable families in our community, she is confident that the housing project would yield a positive and lasting impact on the families for the future.

So far many monthly initiatives have been carried out by BML including BML Startup grant, Renovation of National Museum, BML Fehi project and Online fundraising platform Kindly. A total of 12 monthly initiatives are planned for the months leading up to the  anniversary in November. All efforts are community-based and gives back to the society in some way or another.
