Dhiraagu Innovatively Connects People and NGOs Through its Lifestyle Mobile Application

Earlier this year, local telecommunication giant, Dhiraagu, has launched a lifestyle mobile application under the name ‘NowMV’. The application provides users a versatile range of information such as the most updated local news, weather forecast, prayer times & qibla direction, nearby restaurants, offers, recipes etc. The application is free to use and available to download for both Android Users and Apple Users.

Dhiraagu reports that they have added a new feature to the app; a pathway to connect local non-profit organizations to the people. In this regard, one is provided with the option to donate to such organizations in addition to being able to donate to fundraiser campaigns organized by them. At present, a total of 4 non-profit organizations have been registered for the application being; Maldives Association of Persons with Disabilities, EHEE, Tiny Hears of Maldives and Advocating the Right of Children (ARC). Ongoing fundraiser campaigns by these organizations is also seen in the app.

The telecommunication company notes they will be facilitating a special fundraiser separately for each organization registering with them for the app.

Commenting on the newly introduced feature, Business Development Manager of Dhiraagu, Mr. Ahmed Shinau Abdul Gadhir has stated that it was introduced as non-profit organizations have been hit hard by the impacts of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and are in dire need of all the help they can get.
