MPL Paves Way For Higher Studies By Introducing Scholarship Scheme

Today, Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Higher Education to pave way for higher studies. Through this agreement, MPL will introduce scholarship schemes targeted at graduates of Higher Secondary Education.

For this year, MPL announced that they will be awarding 7 scholarships and the application dates for this scholarships will be announced soon.

At the signing ceremony held at the MPL Office, the agreement was signed between MPL’s Chief Executive Officer, Ali Shaahil and the Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Ibrahim Hassan.

In accordance to this agreement, MPL will be awarding a scholarship to a higher secondary graduate who is selected among the National Top Ten. The individual will then have the chance to pursue a career relating to the field of MPL. MPL announced that the scholarship scheme will be conducted annually from here onwards.

All the works related to the selection process will be handled on behalf of MPL by the Ministry of Higher Education.

While speaking at the ceremony, CEO of MPL, Ali Shaahil remarked that providing educational opportunities for youth is a good nudge in the direction of building human resources. He further added that  MPL pays the utmost importance to always provide young people with education and training opportunities.

The Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Ibrahim Hassan also extended his gratitude to MPL for their support and assistance in making scholarships more accessible to students.
