BML Successfully Completes Projects in Kinbidhoo and Landhoo

Bank of Maldives announced that two Community Fund projects in Th. Kinbidhoo and N. Landhoo had been successfully completed. A picnic area was created in Th. Kinbidhoo as part of the project. The area has huts, traditional joali, wooden benches, BBQ areas, and an outdoor shower that will be used by Kinbidhoo School students and residents.

Aishath Sama commented on the project, saying, “As there is no proper beach on the island, residents usually travel to nearby islands for picnic or recreational activities. With the development of this area, we now have a space for everyone to enjoy.”

In N. Landhoo, a barbecue area was created with help from the Community Fund. The area has a canteen with a small library and a storage area, as well as wooden benches, traditional joali, and huts.

The winner of the Community Fund proposal, Ahmed Rasheed stated “Our aim is to create a space to bring families and the community together. Sincere gratitude to everyone who supported to make this project a reality.”

The Community Fund provides funding for initiatives focusing on community development, sports, the environment, and education. The proposals received for the second quarter of this year are currently being evaluated by the Bank.
