First Lady Attends The Closing Ceremony Of The IJCHP Held In Bandos

On Wednesday, First Lady Fazna Ahmed concluded the International Joint Conference for Healthcare Professionals (IJCHP) held in Bandos, Maldives. The three-day conference held from 18th to 20th July 2022 was organized by the Maldives Nurses Association (MNA) in partnership with Evidence-Based Practice Health Champions Maldives. The main theme of the conference was moving from Silos to Synergy.

While speaking at the closing ceremony, the First Lady remarked that she was hopeful the knowledge shared in the conference will be used to improve care experiences and outcomes in the Maldives. She also encouraged all healthcare professionals to adapt their approaches as required relying on evidence and to give their best in every scenario.

She also discussed the vital role of leadership in bringing effective changes and maintaining high standards in the healthcare profession. As a former educator, she advised healthcare professionals and policy makers about the merits of shared decision making and stated that by perceiving current challenges they can only shape the future.

During the ceremony the First Lady acknowledged Dr. Fathimath Shifaza for her contributions to the Maldives’ nursing community despite the fact that she no longer resides in the country. She urged others to take her as a role model and noted that people can still impact the society while living abroad.

The First Lady also presented certificates to participants who presented papers at the conference.
