The FIFA World Cup, commonly referred to as the World Cup, is the most prestigious soccer competition held in the world. It is held every four years in which top 32 senior men’s national teams engage in a month long tournament. The next edition of this tournament is scheduled to kick-off in the year 2022 which will be hosted by the State of Qatar.
Qatar Airways is the flag carrier for the State of Qatar. The airline became on official partner and following this the official airline of FIFA in May 2017. They have been providing global airline support for all competitions held since then by FIFA, and of course will continue to do so at the highly anticipated FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
In marking two years to go until the tournament kicks off, the airline has unveiled an iconic specially-branded Boeing 777 aircraft hand-painted in FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 livery. The aircraft entered into services yesterday, which will be operating between Doha and Zurich. This route was chosen as the inaugural route to further affirm its commitment to the FIFA partnership flying to the home of FIFA in Switzerland.
It is reported that more aircrafts from the Qatar Airway’s fleet will be transformed the same way and enter into service afterwards.
