Maldives Immigration revealed on Wednesday that its passport services had been extended through Thursday, July 7, at 00:00. This extension, according to Maldives Immigration, is necessary due to the large number of people planning to travel during the upcoming public holidays in July.
Immigration promised that if the payment was made and the passport verification process was finished by 10:00 on July 7, the passport would be issued that day. An SMS confirmation will be sent as soon as an appointment is confirmed, according to Immigration's announcement, which also cautioned everyone to arrive on time.
The authority also advised people who miss their appointments to obtain a token number through the Queue-bee app before 15:00 on July 7. Immigration had previously acknowledged that the demand for passports had risen and that they were producing 800 passports daily. Additionally, as a result of this, the workday was extended until 21:30.
