In the commitment to develop Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), the hospital has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with India’s Renowned multi-specialty Hospital, Gleneagles Global Health City. Under this MoU, special training for doctors and nurses will be carried out along with observer-ship and awareness programs and special assistance to different departments in IGMH.
Furthermore, IGMH will stand a chance to introduce new multi-specialty departments in the hospital via this MoU, along with furthering the knowledge and skills of the Gastro-science and Neuro-surgeries department. IGMH hopes that with this MoU in place, the difficulties Maldivians face in having to travel abroad to get health care not available in the country will be lessened.
