The "Save a Diabetic Child" initiative is sponsored by State Electric Company (STELCO). STELCO entered into a sponsorship agreement with the Diabetes Society of the Maldives as part of its CSR initiatives.
As the project's main sponsor, STELCO will offer support for the execution of the project's future activities scheduled for the remainder of 2022. The contract was signed by Ms Aminath Shiruhaana, Chairperson of the Diabetes Society of the Maldives, and Mr Ahmed Shareef, Managing Director of STELCO.
Shiruhaana expressed her excitement for STELCO's involvement in the project during Monday's signing ceremony. The society has contributed to helping diabetic patients for 22 years by providing them with test kits, insulin pens, and free clinic triages. Since 2000, the society has run a number of "Save a Diabetic Child" programs.
“I am deeply moved that STELCO has chosen to commit to our cause alongside us,” Shiruhaana said. "We have been consistently requesting all capable parties to extend assistance in our commitment to ensure a better life for diabetic patients." The front man for STELCO pledged that the utility company would continue to support and lend a hand as the community worked to improve the lives of diabetic patients.
