President Solih Bids Farewell to the Last Group of Hajj Pilgrims Travelling from Maldives

On Saturday evening, July 2nd, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih bid farewell to the final group of Hajj pilgrims departing for Makkah, Saudi Arabia, to perform the Hajj pilgrimage this year. At the Velana International Airport (VIA), he spoke with 115 prospective pilgrims and inquired about their well-beings.

Dr. Ahmed Zahir, the Minister of Islamic Affairs, accompanied the President to bid farewell to the prospective pilgrims. For this year, he serves as the Maldives' Hajj pilgrims' Amir al-Hajj.


 
The President advised the prospective pilgrims to heed the instructions of the officials who would be with them in order to prevent any incidents. The President gave them the assurance that the government would closely monitor their situation while they were on their pilgrimage. He also sent his best wishes for a "Mabroor Hajj" and a secure journey.
