RDC Joins the Apprenticeship Wagon, Signing an MoU with Economic Ministry

Ministry of Economic Development has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Road Development Corporation in regards to Covid-19 Emergency Income Support Project’s Apprenticeship Program. The agreement that was signed on June 22nd, 2022 was signed by Minister of Economic Development, Ms. Niza Imaad and Mr. Moosa Ali Manik, the Managing Director of Road Development Corporation.
 
The Maldives COVID-19 Emergency Income Support Project's (MCEISP) Apprenticeship Program focuses on certificate-level trainings (apprenticeship programs approved by the MNSDA, the Maldives National Skill Development Authority), with the crucial goal of ensuring that the skill-based trainings are geared toward a wider pool of re-employability and broadening the skill set of workers.
 
Under this MoU, RDC will train and certify participants that complete the courses in level III. The government funded courses include 14 different areas that are Company Operations, Site Supervisor, Inventory Management, Painting, Automotive Maintenance, Refrigeration and Air Condition Mechanic, Computer Hardware and Networking, Welding, Carpentry, Electrical Installation, Masonry, Plumbing, Heavy Vehicle Operation and Front Office Management.
 
With the assistance of State-Owned Enterprises, the apprenticeship program will be put into action (SOEs) where with the help of the program, people would have the chance to work directly in priority trades. Explore the opportunities via jobcenter.mv .
