President of UNGA76 and Foreign Minister, Abdulla Shahid Granted Principle Order of Dominican Republic!

Abdulla Shahid, President of the United Nations General Assembly (PGA), has been awarded the Dominican Republic's highest honor. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic Roberto Alvarez awarded PGA Shahid the Duarte, Sanchez, and Mella Order of Merit, Grand Cross, and Silver Plate. The Dominican Republic's main order was created in 1931.
 
The order is divided into seven classes and is adorned with laurels commemorating the Dominican Republic's founding fathers. It is given in recognition of outstanding service to the country.
 
Minister Shahid was awarded the primary order for his efforts at the United Nations (UN) to combat the COVID-19 epidemic, as well as his efforts to address environmental issues and support human rights principles. He is well known for his efforts to improve the United Nations.
 
On June 16, Minister Shahid traveled to the Dominican Republic to meet with President Luis Abinader and to further enhance the UN's diplomatic relations with the Caribbean nation. He also met with the Dominican Republic's foreign minister to discuss sustainable development and witnessed the country's efforts to grow its tourism industry.
