President Solih Graces The Golden Jubilee Celebrations at Funadhoo School

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih stated on Friday that Funadhoo School's most significant contribution to the community and most notable achievement is the human resources it has helped develop over its 50-year history. The President made these remarks during a speech at Funadhoo School's golden jubilee celebration. He is on a two-day visit to Funadhoo Island in the Shaviyani Atoll. He would also go to Noonu Atoll's Holhudhoo Island.
 
In addition, the President noted that many of the school's alumni are valuable members of society, serving in leadership roles on the island and in the region. The President also mentioned the school's numerous academic achievements on the national stage.
 
The President reaffirmed the administration's commitment to ensuring inclusive education and the right of every child to quality education and learning, saying the goal is to create generations of skilled, talented, and innovative youth who strive to maintain social cohesion and harmony. He went on to say that the administration's free first-year degree program aimed to achieve these objectives. In addition to paying attention in school, the President urged all students to be aware of what is going on around them and to consider ways to contribute to community development.
 
The President also discussed the administration's efforts to advance the education sector, noting that 203 education infrastructure projects are currently in various stages of development. A project to build 15 classrooms in Funadhoo School is currently underway. The President also stated that funds would be set aside in the budget for the establishment of a new administrative building the following year. He also discussed the administration's decision last May to revise the pay structure of education sector employees in order to ensure a commensurate wage for them.
 
In terms of other projects for the island, the President announced his intention to begin a land reclamation project next year, as requested by residents. He also stated that the administration intends to begin coastal protection work on the island as soon as possible.
 
During the ceremony, the President presented commemorative "Golden Jubilee Honour" plaques to the school's long-serving staff. The late Abdulla Abdul Kareem, the school's founder, and teacher Abdul Haadhee Yoosuf were among those honored. The President also presented commemorative plaques to long-serving employees who have been with the company for more than 15 and 20 years, respectively.
