Two New Bus Routes Officially Launched at the MTCC New Bus Unveiling Event

The proud Chief Executive Officer of the country’s biggest company, Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), Mr.Adam Azim proudly announced the residents of Greater Male’ Area that the public transportation services is all planned to be accessible with a simple touch of a smartphone or bank card before the end of the year, 2022.


 
He made the remarks whilst speaking at the official unveiling ceremony of 15 new, double-decker, buses brought for the bus operations of Hulhumale’ Phase 2 area. The successful event took place on June 15th, at Hulhumale’ Phase 2, Hiya Flats area where President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih graced the ceremony along with other officials in attendance. Mr. Adam Azim also emphasized on the importance of modernizing the services offered by the company along with the commitment of providing quality services.


 
With the goal of revamping its public transportation services, MTCC has increased the frequency of bus services from Hulhumale's Phase II. With 15 new buses brought into service for the Regional Transport Link, the company will run a bus every 15 minutes from Phase II. The company proudly ensures everyone that we are fully committed in their responsibility to provide a safe, reliable and efficient public transport service.

 
With the new buses, MTCC now proudly owns a total of 46 buses that will be in operation across the Maldives. The company had also launched two new routes that will allow passengers to travel directly from Alimas Carnival area in Male' City to Hulhule', where the Velana International Airport is located, to and from Hulhumale' Phase II. In addition, the company intends to increase bus frequency along the West Park-Hulhumale Phase II route. From 05:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., the new buses will run on the Alimas Carnival and West Park routes. During rush hour, buses will arrive every 20 minutes and every 15 minutes.
