Hdh. Nellaidhoo Residents Shared their Gratitude over RTL Ferry Service to President Solih

On Sunday, June 12th, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih met with members of the council of Nellaidhoo Island in the North Thiladhunmathi Atoll. The council members expressed their delight at the meeting, which was held in the President's Office, at the introduction of the "Raajje Transport Link" ferry service in the atoll. They also expressed the residents' gratitude for the new service, stating that it would make their lives easier.

The members of the council recalled their previous meeting with the President in 2019 and noted that many of the issues raised at that time are currently being addressed. They pointed out that the administration had completed the harbor, football field, and coastal protection projects, while work on a new powerhouse was still underway. They also expressed their gratitude for President Solih's unprecedented levels of development on the island.

The President was also briefed on the most pressing needs of the residents by the council members. Leveling roads, addressing space constraints at the school, and establishing proper waste management facilities were among the issues discussed at the meeting. They also requested that the President bring Hirinaidhoo, a nearby uninhabited island, under the council's jurisdiction.

President Solih discussed how speaking with council members and other island representatives is a top priority for him. The President assured the members of the council that the administration would look into the issues raised during the meeting. He also informed them of his plans to collaborate with relevant government agencies to address the school's problems and construct a new office building for the council secretariat.
