The Oceans – Our Home Campaign Officially Launched by Dhiraagu

Maldives’ telecom giant, Dhiraagu has officially launched the 'The Oceans- Our Home' campaign as part of their Care for the Oceans theme following World Oceans Day 2022. Dhiraagu’s Brand Ambassador Zoona Naseem appeared in a video to kick off the campaign with the main goal to raise awareness among young people. Because the world we inherit is shaped by today's actions and decisions, it is critical that they are actively involved in driving change. A series of awareness activities will be held across the country as part of this campaign.
 
The company places a high value on raising awareness and advocating for environmental protection and preservation, as well as ensuring environmental sustainability in their business practices. In October 2016, Care for the Oceans was launched, a company-wide and public-facing initiative to reduce and raise awareness about single-use plastic. Since 2016, the company has implemented reusable bags, water dispensers, and a ban on single-use plastic bottles in the workplace.
 
Dhiraagu has also participated in awareness and coastal clean-up programs, as well as assisting schools with their plastic-free initiatives. The company has also run initiatives aimed at promoting ocean conservation by encouraging people to choose alternatives to single-use plastic. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Dhiraagu raised public awareness about the rise in plastic pollution and encouraged people to dispose of single-use gloves and masks responsibly. Last year, Zoona Naseem was named as their Brand Ambassador to help them intensify their calls for action.
