MSS Chrome – The Largest Vessel Ever to Fly Maldivian Flag has Finally Arrived!

On June 7th, the arrival of the largest vessel ever to fly a Maldivian flag, MSS Chrome, was warmly welcomed by a water salute of Maldives Ports Limited. The second vessel to be registered under MSS, MSS Chrome is a bulk carrier with a total length of 190 meters and a length between perpendiculars of 181 meters. The vessel has a median breath of 30.5 meters and a median depth of 16.6 meters, with a draft of 11.221 meters and a deadweight tonnage (DWT) of 43,929.1 tons. Moreover, the vessel's gross tonnage is reported to be 26,870 tons, with a net tonnage of 13,874 tons. The MSS Chrome carried 41,500 metric tons of aggregate and sand on its maiden voyage to the Maldives.
