Joint Positive Parenting Program Graced By The President & First Lady

On Wednesday, June 1st, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed attended a ceremony to mark the beginning of the Joint Positive Parenting Program (JPPP). At the event, which was held at the Child Development Center (CDC), they were joined by parents, government officials, and representatives from the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).

UNICEF and the Ministry of Education have collaborated on the joint initiative for five years. Its goal is to equip parents with positive parenting skills so that they can better support their children's development and help them reach their full potential.

According to the Situation Analysis of Children and Youth conducted in 2021, the program addresses children's critical survival and developmental challenges. It is also intended to address the challenges of the twenty-first century, as well as the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic, which exacerbated existing problems for parents, children, and adolescents.
