Career Expo Begins For Secondary Grade Students

Maldives Airports Company operates Velana International Airport and has been heavily involved in destination marketing as well as bringing new airlines to the Maldives in order to promote the tourism industry. In developing the future Velana International Airport, MACL has embarked on one of the largest projects in Maldives history, including the development of a brand new international passenger terminal, a new code F runway, a new cargo terminal complex, and a new fuel farm, as well as hydrant system and major infrastructure developments.


 
The company has recently made headlines for their launch of a series of career expo sessions for secondary school students, with the inaugural session held at Velana International Airport (VIA). The expo's goal is to deliver vital information to students interested in careers in the aviation industry. Students were advised on what courses in elementary school will assist them pursue careers in the aviation business during the expo.


 
Furthermore, students were educated on the many roles of MACL as an airport operating organization as well as the operations of Velana International Airport. This includes Terminal Services, Passenger Services, Commercial, Ramp, Airport Emergency Services, and Air Traffic Control. The career exhibition drew 38 kids from Thaajuddeen School and Billabong High International School. MACL plans to expand this expo to include more schools.
