EXIM Bank Begins Prequalification Process On GAN Airport

Gan International Airport is set to get further developments by the EXIM bank of India. Officials from the bank had begun their contractor pre-qualification process on Friday, May 20th, in which the project is set to include a development of a brand-new control tower, the installation of a new fire station and development of a cold storage cargo area.

The main goal of this project however is the expansion of a new and modern passenger terminal that will cater to 1.5 million passengers estimated yearly. Moreover, roads will also be developed along with the initiation of a new parking area as well.

While the Ministry of Economic Affairs intends to begin planning for the project by the end of 2022, the Ministry emphasizes that airport development is critical to the development of other industries in the southern region. The project will receive USD 17 million from Exim Bank of India's Line of Credit.
