Child Safeguarding Policy Successfully Launched

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih shined light on the "Child Safeguarding Policy" being another step towards ensuring complete protection and safety for children in all aspects of their lives, including sports. The "Child Safeguarding Policy" was developed in accordance with international best practices and the Maldives Constitution, laws, and regulations.
 
He made the remarks following the launch of the policy, which was developed by the Maldives Olympic Committee in collaboration with Advocating the Rights of Children (ARC), at a ceremony at the President's Office on May 18th, 2022. The policy's goal is to protect children participating in sporting events from abuse, neglect, and harm. According to President Solih, the policy will also help children gain a better understanding of their rights.
 
Furthermore, President Solih emphasized that the policy would be implemented on a national scale, enlisting the support of all government offices and institutions. The President urged families and civil society to help implement the policy, emphasizing how far it has come in terms of child protection and safety.
