Ha.Thakandhoo Set To Get Developments By MTCC

Maldives Transports and Contracting Company (MTCC) gets contracted by the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure for the Harbor Development & Shore Protection of Ha.Thakandhoo. The island is set to get the best services for the much-needed development by the leading company of Maldives.
 
CEO of MTCC, Adam Azim signed on behalf of the company whilst the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Zeeniya Hameed signed on behalf of the Ministry. Gracing the ceremony was the Member of Parliament of Ha.Baarashu, Ahmed Abdullah.
 
The project that is worth MVR 22 Million, has a scope of works that includes harbor dredging operations of 4,455cbm and channel dredging of 2,230m, construction of a 252m breakwater, 126m groynes, a 160m revetment, installation of 883 sqm harbor pavement, installation of harbor lights, navigational lights, and mooring bollards.
 
An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) will also be conducted as part of the project scope. It is worth noting that the EIA process is completed with the participation of all stakeholders. As a result, it is critical to conduct the EIA efficiently. Following the completion of the EIA, all mitigating factors will be considered, and the project will be implemented using engineering solutions.
 
With this development in place, MTCC hopes the residents of Ha.Thakandhoo can get a relief from the difficulties they have had in using their current harbor with all the damages that had caused to it due to erosion.
