BML Small Grant – A Way To Make A Difference

The Bank of Maldives is celebrating their 40th anniversary this year in November 2020, and in regards to that, the Bank has taken initiative to host a series of 12 high-impact monthly community activities. The Bank is no stranger when it comes to giving back to the community as it has shown even in the past.
 
BML Small Grant is the fifth in the 12 high-impact series that is on-going, where BML choose 8 Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) on projects that are aimed towards sustainability, climate change mitigation and adaptation where the bank will grant MVR 250,000 each. The bank is accepting applications from different NGO’s until May 15th, 2022.
 
Eligibility criteria requires the applicants to be a community-based non-governmental organization legally registered in Maldives before December, 31st 2021 and the fund is applicable for only new projects of maximum value of MVR 250,000 within the focal areas. Individuals, government agencies, businesses/commercial enterprises, and other state-funded institutions are ineligible.

The funding areas BML will support are Conservation and/or restoration of environment/endangered species, Restoration of degraded or unused land, Waste management and pollution prevention, Promoting affordable, clean energy and low carbon innovation, Climate change mitigation and adaptation and Environment education and advocacy.
