The Governments of the Maldives and the Republic of Kazakhstan signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Mutual Exemption of Visa Requirements today, which permits both countries' residents to be exempt from visa requirements for single or multiple entry, exit, or transit for a period of 30 days.
The Agreement was signed on behalf of the Maldives' government by Ahmed Khaleel, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and on behalf of Kazakhstan's government by Nurlan Zhalgasbayev, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Maldives, at a ceremony at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
State Minister Khaleel spoke at the ceremony, thanking the Government of Kazakhstan for their commitment to further strengthen the bilateral relationship between the two countries, and stating that the signing of this agreement is a significant milestone that will facilitate stronger people-to-people contact, as well as expand business and investment opportunities for both the Maldives and Kazakhstan.
