Three Newly Appointed Ambassadors Present Credentials To President

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih was paid a visit at the President’s Office by three newly appointed Ambassadors of Bhutan, Brazil and Kazakhstan. Held at three separate occasions, President Solih reflected on different matters between Maldives and the three countries.

The new Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bhutan to Maldives, Rinchen Kuentsyl, was welcomed and congratulated by President Solih upon receiving his credence. Important matters like combating Climate Change, expanding tourism between both countries, exploring prospects for healthcare professionals and youth and sports cooperation was highlighted by both parties. Concluding the meeting, President Solih also shared his interest in collaborating with Bhutan within the SAARC framework other regional international forums.

The new Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Maldives, Nurlan Zhalgasbayev, was welcomed and congratulated by President Solih upon receiving his credence. During their meeting establishing honorary consuls and increasing cooperation in tourism, fisheries, trade, and investment were discussed. In conclusion, the President and the Ambassador expressed their commitment to strengthening the long-standing bilateral relationship between the two countries.

The new Ambassador of Federative Republic of Brazil to Maldives, Sergio Luiz Canaes, was welcomed and congratulated by President Solih upon receiving his credence. Climate Change, COVID19 Pandemic, trade, the economy and commerce, tourism and other issues of global concern were discussed between the President and the Ambassador. Furthermore, the Ambassador informed the President of the 80,000 dozes of Vaccines rom the Ministry of Public Health under Humanitarian Cooperation of Brazil to the Maldives would be dispatched later this month.
