Ministry of Environment, Climate Change & Technology in association with Fuvahmulah City Council has arranged a community run in hopes of spreading more awareness and bringing the community together to mark the World Environment Day 2022.
The run is set to take place on June 4th at 7am in Fuvahmulah City with the mission to encourage sustainable methods of transportation and to promote a healthy lifestyle via exercise. The Ministry also hopes to increase the sense of community ownership and responsibility towards conservation and protection of resources of the environment.
The five-kilometer run will be an untimed event, making it a convenient and relaxed run to kick-start the day. Also, the first 250 runners to complete the run will be given a gift pack! The run will also feature a refilling station where the runners can refill their water bottles throughout. The Ministry also promotes against single-use plastics for a greener community hence to bring your own refillable bottles are very much encouraged.
Registrations are open till May 22nd so hurry on and join the run to participate with the community to run for a greater cause! Inspire your little humans, inspire your friends and your family members to join together to make the world a greener place.
