With the mission to inspire, empower and celebrate women in science and technology, Women in Tech has come a really long way after establishing their non-profit organization in 2018. Under the same desire to bring a positive change to this industry and to help bring more women, the founding members made it their goal to introduce more and more females to this broad industry.
Through this mindset, the organization has held a number of significant workshops that has been carried out in various islands across Maldives. Quite recently, the organization has announced their new initiative program, “Code for Climate” which is set to take place for 30 days in the island of R.Dhuvaafaru.
Girls aged from 13 to 16 years will get to learn about climate change awareness and also get good knowledge in creating solutions via technology using computer programming, Python and Machine Learning. The programme, supported by Joali Maldives, will conduct both online and physical classes in such a way that the girls will be inspired to use their knowledge in helping to solve real world problems.
Registrations are now open through their website; https://www.womenintechmv.org/ and classes will commence from May 8th onwards.
