MACL Receives Certificate Acknowledging Health & Safety Measures

Congratulations are in order as Maldives Airports Company Limited is once again certified and acknowledged by the Airports Council International (ACI) for the second time for the immense measures and safety precautions taken against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The certificate was awarded to Velana International by passing a rigorous evaluation that followed ICAO CART recommendations as well as industry best practices.

The certificate shows the appreciation for the dedication and hard work put towards protecting the staff and the hundreds of passengers that pass through Velana International Airport (VIA). Congratulating MACL, the Director General of ACI Asia to Maldives, Stefano Baronci admired the team of VIA for maintaining the accreditation of ACI’s Airport Health Accreditation programme.

The Director also highlighted the continuation of efforts by the staff to maintain the safe airport experience for all travelers which is in line with the recommended health measures established in the ACI Aviation Business Restart and Recovery guidelines, and also ICAO Council Aviation Recovery Task Force (CART) Recommendations.
