BML Further Solidifies Its Commitment to the ARC AID Program by Making an Additional Donation

Advocating Rights of Children (ARC) is a local non-governmental organization with a missions to protect and promote the rights and well-being of children. In the wake of the global COVID-19 pandemic, the NGO launched a special program to facilitate provision of basic food supplies to children and their families affected by the crisis. So far, aid under the program has been extended to 382 children and their families in 10 islands from 5 atolls.

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, the largest local bank operating in Maldives, Bank of Maldives Plc (BML) began their partnership with ARC AID in May with a donation of MVR 50,000 to assist vulnerable families amidst the peak time of the COVID-19 pandemic. The funds were reported to have been utilized to support 115 children and their families residing in the Greater Male’ Region.

Today, the Bank is pleased to make an additional donation of MVR 150,000 to ARC AID. According to the Bank, these funds will be utilized to support vulnerable children and their families in the following 5 atolls; Haa Alif Atoll, Haa Dhaalu Atoll, Meemu Atoll, Faafu Atoll and Dhaalu Atoll.

Food supplies which are covered under the ARC AID ranges from rice, flour, lentils, milk powder, tuna cans, eggs, assorted cans of vegetables and beans.
