Working on Developing the Skill of the Youth
On 21st April 2022, the Ministry of Economic Development signed an MOU with Housing Development Corporation Limited (HDC) to host the HDC’s apprenticeship program under the COVID 19 Emergency Income Support Programme. The MOU was signed by the Ministry of Economic Developments State Minister Neeza Imad and by HDC’s Managing Director Suhail Ahmed.
The apprenticeship program will be open to 100 applicants. The program will also provide a national level 3 certificate for the following categories:
- Gardening
- Mason
- Welding
- Assistant Site Supervisor for Building Construction
- Electrical Installation and Maintenance
- Heavy Vehicle Operation
- Plumbing
- Building Maintenance
- Carpentry
- Refrigeration and Air Condition Mechanic
HDC’s aim with this program is to ensure that the youth who are interested in entering the workforce have an easier time doing so.
