Tip to Deal with Thirst this Ramadan

We all know the feeling of dry mouth during the month of Ramadan, and wanting to down a cold glass of water to make ourselves feel better. But we can't give in to the urge. So to help with that, we've found a sure-fire method to help you feel a little less thirsty during fasting hours.

It all comes before the actual fasting period, actually. You can start by taking steps to reduce or replace sugary drinks such as soda in your diet.

One of our favorites as a replacement is infused water. You can add basically anything to water and make it taste even better. Some options would be mint, green tea, lime, watermelon, cucumbers, or even strawberries! All of it on their own or paired with another ingredient make for great flavors to keep you hydrated.

Another alternative would be to make family favorites such as hot chocolate, lemonade, smoothies, fruit punch, chocolate milk, and coffee at home. This way, you can control the amount of sugar that is being added to the drink and reduce it accordingly.

Lastly, if you really think you can't survive without sweetness in your life, you should try to reduce the amount of sugar in your coffee or tea, in gradual amounts, till your tastebuds adjust to the less sweet version of your favorite drink.

Keep these tips in mind and make sure you finish the month of Ramadan strong. You got this!
