The flag carrier of Sri Lanka, Sri Lankan Airlines does not limit themselves to just transportation of passengers, they are also deeply involved in uplifting cargo from all corners of the world falling under its network. The airline offers sophisticated storage and handling services. Most importantly, their advanced automated cargo tracking system, SkyChain, enhances the service with by enabling customers to live-track their shipments from the point of reservation and throughout its journey to the final delivery.
Maldives is one of the countries in the large network of Sri Lankan Cargo. In fact, Sri Lankan Cargo stole the spot as one of the main logistical providers into the Maldives this year amidst the global COVID-19 pandemic. Accordingly, yesterday, they had uplifted a total of 26.2 tonnes of food varieties ranging from vegetables, fruits and other essential food items from Dubai at United Arab Emirates on a scheduled trip. Out of this, 23 tonnes were delivered to Maldives as essential commodities. The airline affirms that they will continue to extend their services to the import and export sectors.
Since travel restrictions were lifted, Sri Lankan Airlines have resumed regular operations to Maldives flying in numerous tourists from selected destinations falling under the airline’s global network.
