A cleanup program was conducted by the Hulhumale’ Association for Neighborhood Development (HAND).
The founder and vice president of the association, Fathimath Nasra, has mentioned that the program was named 'Saafu Veshi' which loosely translates to 'Clean Home.' In this program, members of the association cleaned up and collected waste from locations all across Hulhumale.
An estimate of 13.5 tonnes of waste were collected by 50 members of the organization.
“This activity was initiated by HAND and executed by our members,” said Nasra.
HAND was founded with the purpose of promoting the spirit of community and economic prosperity, as well as assisting residents of Hulhumale’ various issues they face by collaborating with state authorities.
