Ever since the Covid19 pandemic hit 2 years ago, back in 2020, many looked forward to events, and such had to be canceled for the safety of the public. But now, with the case numbers going down, and vaccination numbers going up, many organizations have been planning to host their events physically.
One such event is the Worldchefs Congress & Expo 2022. This will be the first time since 2020 so it is bound to be full of excitement. What's even more exciting is the fact that 20 Maldivian Chefs, 6 of whom are culinary students, will be representing the island nation on this international platform.
The event is scheduled to be held from May 30th to June 2nd at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Bestbuy Maldives Pvt. Ltd. (BBM) announced recently that they would be sponsoring the culinary students' expenses to attend the event. This isn't uncommon, as BBM has a history of providing opportunities to young chefs all across the country in order to help further develop the industry grow and allow the young chefs to explore new opportunities.
For their generosity, the Chefs Guild of Maldives thanked BBM and described them as a 'vital partner.'
This upcoming event will host a series of important and vital activities, from keynotes to presentations from industry pioneers and innovators. One of the highly anticipated events amongst the dozens is the Billy Gallagher Young Chefs Forum, which is designed to allow chefs under the age of 25 to thrive through meeting with industry peers and mentors, as well as seeking new professional opportunities and learning valuable skills from each other.
Best wishes are sent to the Maldivian delegation by the Chefs Guild of Maldives. And of course, from us as well!
