Dedicated Child Development Centre Opens in Hulhumale Hospital

The Child Development Centre in Hulhumale Hospital has been inaugurated by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih today. Joined with First Lady Fazna Ahmed and Vice President Faisal Naseem, the ceremony was held at the facility this morning.

The Centre will provide a stimulating and educational environment for children under the age of 18 to develop their cognitive, social, emotional, speech, and language skills. Occupational therapy, physiotherapy and psychological services will also be incorporated into the programmes offered at the Centre.

There are currently 67 children undergoing various different programs in the center already, courses that commenced prior to the opening. It has been a concern of many parents that it is currently highly challenging in the Maldives to find a dedicated center that offers specialized child development services and treatments.

First Lady donated therapeutic toys to the Centre.
