First Time in The Maldives, 150 Awardees Win Chartered Accountant Scholarships

 
For the first time in the Maldives, 150 Scholarships for Chartered Accountants have been awarded to aspiring students.  
 
In a special ceremony held at the MNU auditorium on Sunday, Minister of Higher Education, Mr. Ibrahim Hassan along with Chief Guest, the former Auditor General and the former President of Chartered Institute of Maldives Mr. Hassan Ziyaath did the honors.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Hassan noted that 493 applications were received upon announcing the opportunity, which were carefully screened by the Auditor General’s Office and Chartered Institute of Maldives for the final selection. Following a token of congratulations, Minister shared hope for witnessing outstanding performance by awardees.  
 
Mr. Ziyaath also spoke to the attendants, and expressed the tireless work over the years that went in to facilitating this opportunity.  
 
The awardees of this scholarship will be trained to be CIMA Professional Level accountants, and ACCA qualified accountants. The program will pave the path to producing qualified local talents into the field, currently dominated by foreigners in the Maldives.  
 
From registration fee, annual subscription fee, examination fee, to book allowances and tuition fee is covered under the scholarship.
