With the addition of the new treatment facility for infectious diseases, this will be the third of its kind in Hulhumale'.
Ministry of Health mentioned that the purpose of the new facility was to provide better care for COVID-19 patients.
It is located in the 'Orange Hiyaa' building which was previously being used as a distribution center by the Housing Development Corporation. It boasts 272 beds, which is inclusive of 44 ICU beds. It will be capable of providing emergency services and in-patient services, says the Health Ministry. Specially allocated for patients who need admission are 35 beds, which include 5 ICU beds.
This facility is will be managed and operated by Hulhumale' Hospital.
