A Big Leap in the Maldivian Health Sector.

As part of the improvement of the health sector, the Minister of Health Ahmed Naseem has stated that dialysis centers will be established in hospitals all across the Maldives during the year 2022.

He mentioned this during his questioning at parliament.

"In the upcoming two months three hospitals will be equipped with dialysis centers, Namely Lh. Naifaru Hospital, B. Eydhafushi Atoll Hospital, and Sh. Atoll Hospital" says, Minister Naseem.

This motion was brought due to the increasing number of cases where patients are diagnosed with kidney-related diseases in the Maldives.

Along with this, Minister Naseem also announced the construction of 25 regional hospitals that are to be tendered this year. The 25 hospitals include 12 hospitals with a 30-bed capacity, 7 hospitals with a 50-bed capacity, and 3 tertiary hospitals with a 100-bed capacity. He also announced 3 hospitals without a set bed capacity.

He says that these will be projects built under the  Line of Credit from EXIM Bank India and loans from Kuwait.
