All New Entertainment Insurance Introduced!

The collaboration between the Musician’s Union of Maldives (M.U.M) and Dhivehi Insurance Company has been a fruitful one and they have come up with a way to provide insurance for the members of the Union.

Under the policy with Dhivehi Insurance - a comprehensive insurance package tailored exclusively for union members covers:

  1. Coverage for musical and photo/videography equipment against:

    2. a. Theft, fire, and natural perils.
    b. Handling damages incurred during transportation.

    1. Coverage for members’ accidental injuries and death.
    2. Coverage for third-party liabilities.


    The coverage starts when members of the Union are subscribed to the Premium Add-on. Other musicians in the industry are welcome to join the union in order to reap the benefits of this insurance and assure that they will be safe during their work.

    This insurance is the first of its kind to be made available to freelance artists in the Maldives. An information session was held yesterday by the UNion and Dhivehi Insurance.

    Dhivehi Insurance was founded by Mr. Abdul Wahid Thowfeeq who has over 20 years of experience in the Insurance Industry. The company was created in 2016 to bring more up-to-date and modern insurance coverage to the market.

    The insurance was made effective from 22 February onwards.
